WASHINGTON, July 30, 2018Buchanan & Edwards Inc., a technology leader creating transformative solutions for government customers, announced today that it was honored for its work in the community with YearUp, a nonprofit that helps young adults from urban communities by empowering them to reach their full potential. The 2018 YearUp Urban Empowerment Award was presented to Mehret Belayneh, Buchanan & Edwards director of corporate operations.

“Belayneh was selected for the award due to her involvement, advocacy and overall dedication to the YearUp program,” said Greg Shinbur, associate director of partner relations at YearUp. “Her tireless work and efforts to help the development and growth of the YearUp organization has been a key factor in our ability to provide so many career and mentoring opportunities to our program participants. We are extremely thankful for the support the entire Buchanan & Edwards team has provided to our organization for the past three years.”
